William Leonard Cordell was a bookkeeper and credit manager of Hess and Clark. William and his wife, Maggie Mae lived on Maple Street before moving onto Center Street. Maggie passed away on August 31, 1914. William remained in his Queen Anne home until the 1930’s when he moved into the Crowell House Hotel on Main Street. William died on Octoctober 14, 1940 and is buried in the Ashland City Cemetery. Currently, the home is owned by Donald and Gail Cadley
