Samaritan Hospital was the gift of J.L. Clark to the people of Ashland. Clark lived at 622 Center Street. The gift was his wish that no one, no matter their financial state, be denied medical treatment. This magnificent colonial design building of the Georgian period originally built in 1912 was incorporated into the current building minus its once-beautiful facade. The facade was demolished in 1975.
