On May 13th, 2004 the Center Street Historic District Association will meet at the Historical Society Conference Room at 7:00 pm. We will discuss plans for becoming a Certified Local Government for the purpose of historic preservation in the city of Ashland. The designation as a historic district does not afford any protection as it relates to building standards or preservation. A committee was formed to proceed with the formulation of a Certified Local Government and accompanying legislation which will afford protection within the Center Street Historic District. All property owners are invited to attend our meeting to learn more about this exciting initiative. If you are unable to attend, please complete the enclosed postcard and mail as soon as possible. - Preliminary discussion with the city law director - Meeting with Center Street Homeowners November 2003 Guest speaker Glenn Harper from the Ohio Historic Preservation Office (Mayor Strine in attendance) Reviewed model policies and ordinances Acquired and reviewed paperwork/application from the Ohio Preservation Office Draft Statement of Purpose - for application Description of the location of the Historic District - for application We look forward to seeing you!
